One-Dimensional Spatial Solitons in Kerr Media

  • Chapter
Spatial Solitons

Part of the book series: Springer Series in Optical Sciences ((SSOS,volume 82))

Summary

We give an overview of the experimental activity related to spatial solitons in Kerr or Kerr-like media. We review the results obtained in this area, starting from the early experiments up to the most recent achievements in semiconductors, discussing the formation, control, and application of solitons in one-dimensional structures.
