Abstract

The structure and the principle of seam tracking for submerged arc welding were introduced in this paper. The method of seam recognition with computer vision was mainly researched when the environmental light was changed. Intelligent control system for seam tracking has been realized by using a self-modulated fuzzy control set. The system was tested on the producing of spiral submerged arc welded pipe for outside-welding and the primary results were obtained.
