5. Professional Case-Based Reasoning Application Development

  • Chapter
Developing Industrial Case-Based Reasoning Applications

Abstract

Today, contemporary IT companies are facing a market that demands large-scale CBR projects and CBR software that fulfills quality standards. Therefore, a systematic and professional methodology for developing CBR applications is mandatory.

This chapter presents such a systematic approach. It is particularly suited for IT companies that develop professional CBR applications on a regular basis. In such cases, significant CBR experience accumulates and must be preserved as corporate knowledge. This chapter shows in detail a systematic procedure for capturing and representing CBR application development experience, based on recent software engineering methodologies and in line with current quality standards. Therefore, Chapter 6 shows how to represent CBR application development experience using software process models.
