Abstract

In this chapter the main synchronization of the third order type-II loop is examined, when the loop is unsaturated. First, the local stability analysis and the study of the hold-in range are carried out. A stability condition is derived, which connects the parameters of the LPF and the PI controller. This stability condition turns out to be very useful in the design of the loop. Then, the tracking range is examined. Finally, the loop dynamic behaviour is investigated and useful design criteria are suggested. c2 dv d and
