Abstract.

We have developed high-speed VPN router based on ordinary PC. Generally, a load factor of VPN process is high for ordinary CPU, thus a PC VPN router has been as narrow network bandwidth device. However, the PC VPN is very low-cost against commercial VPN routers. We propose the high-speed PC VPN router using hardware accelarator for encription. We evaluated our PC VPN router using parallel CFD benchmark. A network bandwidth which use our PC VPN router realized about 500 Mbps(uni-directional throughput). Since parallel CFD Benchmark used our PC VPN router, Round Trip Time(RTT) was long, therefore we obtained sufficient performance by applied to overlap communication with computation technique.
