Plant Responses to Abiotic Stress

Abstract

Drought, high salinity, and low temperature are major environmental factors that limit plant productivity. Plants respond and adapt to these stresses in order to survive. Recent molecular and genetic studies have revealed the presence of many signaling components are involved in the signaling pathways of these stresses. Furthermore, gene expression profiling using cDNA microarrays or gene chips has identified many genes that are regulated by drought-, cold-, or high-salinity stresses. In this review, we highlight recent progress on the transcriptome analysis in drought-, cold-, or high-salinity stress conditions.
