Abstract
Two novel methods for the generation of tunable ultrashort dye laser pulses were developed recently in our laboratory. Both methods are somewhat unconventional and universally applicable and seem capable of considerable further development, although at the present state only pulsewidths around 50 ps have been obtained consistently.
