Zusammenfassung

Strecksehnenverletzungen haben im Vergleich zu den Beugesehnenverletzungen hinsichtlich der Nahttechnik, der Heilung und Nachbehandlung in der Vergangenheit eine geringere Aufmerksamkeit erhalten. Neben der anspruchsvollen Versorgung komplexer Verletzungen stellen auch einfache Strecksehnenverletzungen eine Herausforderung in der Nachbehandlung dar. Sie werden in ihrer Schwere häufig unterschätzt und dadurch unsachgemäß behandelt. Eine unangemessene Behandlung verletzter Strecksehnen führt jedoch zu einer Beeinflussung der Geschicklichkeit, der Kraft sowie der Beweglichkeit der Hand und kann so einen erheblichen Funktionsverlust zur Folge haben. So stellt die restriktive Narbenbildung nach einer Verletzung immer noch das größte Problem dar. Langzeit- Untersuchungen nach Strecksehnenverletzungen konnten zeigen, dass nicht nur ein Streckverlust eintreten kann, sondern ein großer Anteil der Patienten einen Beugeverlust hinnehmen muss. Der Verlust der Beugung beeinflusst neben der Greiffunktion die Kraft und stellt so eine erheblich größere Funktionseinschränkung dar als ein Streckverlust (Newport et al. 1990). Die Versorgung der Strecksehnen sollte daher mit der gleichen Sorgfalt geschehen wie die der Beugesehnen.
