Zusammenfassung
Techniken zur Rekonstruktion der Nase gehören zu den ältesten Verfahren der plastischen Chirurgie. Bereits Sushruta beschrieb etwa 600 v. Chr. Methoden zur Nasenrekonstruktion mit Gewebe aus der Wange. Nasenrekonstruktionen wurden damals v. a. als entehrende Verstümmelungen, z. B. für bestimmte Verbrechen (Ehebruch, Diebstahl) oder von Kriegsgefangenen durchgeführt. Die Rekonstruktionen wurden meist von Angehörigen einer speziellen Kaste von Töpfern ausgeführt.
