Abstract
We present a numerical investigation of the shot noise suppression in a mesoscopic cavity containing hard-wall obstacles or potential fluctuations. We show that, while in the absence of obstacles the suppression factor is 1/4, in the presence of a random distribution of strong scatterers it becomes 1/3. If instead the scatterers are regularly distributed, the value of the Fano factor depends on the relative position of the obstacles with respect to the apertures.
