Eine korrekte Schnitttechnik ist Voraussetzung für das Erreichen optimaler adaptationsfähiger Wundränder. Traumatisierte, ausgefranste, sägezahnartige, schräge oder ungleiche Schnitte müssen unbedingt vermieden werden. Ein nachträgliches Angleichen durch Nachschneiden ebenso wie ausgleichende Nahttechniken beinhalten einen höheren Zeitaufwand. Die korrekte Beachtung der Schnitttechnik ist ferner für die Sicherung der vollständigen Tumorexzision von Bedeutung. Im Gegensatz zur früher beschriebenen Keilexzision sollte die Haut stets senkrecht inzidiert werden, um Ausläufer des Tumors in der Tiefe vollständig zu erfassen (Abb. 10.1). Ferner erleichtern senkrechte Wundränder die exakte Readaptation.
