Zusammenfassung

Somatoforme Störungen spielen in der heutigen Medizin aus verschiedenen Gründen eine wichtige Rolle. Die körperliche Symptomatik macht in jedem Fall eine gründliche Diagnostik erforderlich. Ist diese abgeschlossen und hat keine krankhaft en Befunde erbracht, kommt es anstatt zur Erleichterung zum Problem: Zwischen den objektiven, durch den Arzt erhobenen Befunden und dem subjektiven Krankheitserleben des Patienten tritt eine nur schwer überbrückbare Kluft auf. Daraus entstehen Konfl ikte in der Arzt-Patient-Beziehung. Der Patient fühlt sich in seinem Leiden missverstanden, der Arzt beharrt darauf, dass keine körperliche Erkrankung vorliege. Eine auf Geschwindigkeit und Effi zienz ausgerichtete Medizin wird vor beträchtliche Herausforderungen gestellt.
