Abstract

This chapter continues the inventory control problem studied in the previous chapter. The new system is shown in Fig. 17.1. We have added two things to the model in Chap.16: (1) backlogging (bsackordering) which is shown in Fig. 17.1 as an increase in demand to Di+si, 2 ≨ i ≨ N; and (2) delivery lag shown as a 80% chance that an order arrives at the start of a period and a 20% chance that it arrives at the start of the next period. We assume that these probabilities, the 0.80 and 0.20, are known and will not be fuzzy. A fuzzy inventory problem similar to this has been considered in [1].
