Abstract
Most children born with anorectal malformations (ARM) suffer from defecation problems during childhood. For a majority of patients constipation disappears in adolescence and fecal incontinence also improves at that time. Although problems tend to be worse in young children, even some adolescents and adults continue to have difficulties with defecation.
