Abstract
Nina Oding presents a well-written and sound exploration of conditions and barriers to economic growth in Russia, with a special focus on St. Petersburg. It draws from the author’s rich knowledge of the local economy. Oding’s contribution is structured in four main sections: introduction, conditions and basic structure of investment in Russian regions, the role and development of St. Petersburg, conclusions and outlook. The following comments, given along this line, are predominately from a regional economics perspective.
