Zusammenfassung
Diesem Beitrag ist vorauszuschicken, dass es seinen Gegenstand als Organisationstypus eigentlich nicht gibt. Anders als die Wissenschaft, das Recht oder die Wirtschaft ist das Internet kein separates Funktionssystem, in dem entlang einer Leitunterscheidung in und durch Organisationen kommuniziert und entschieden würde. Für organisationssoziologische Zwecke ist die Rede vom Internet ein Kürzel für einen Verbund von Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologien, die bekanntlich vielfältigste Nutzung innerhalb und außerhalb von Organisationen fast jeglicher Art ermöglichen. Damit entstehen neue und erweiterte Möglichkeiten für Organisationen, sich zu vernetzen und sogar andere Akteure wie Individuen, communities oder soziale Bewegungen in solche Netzwerke einzubeziehen.
