Zusammenfassung
In reaction to fast technological, economic and social developments managers and professional members of educational organizations in the Netherlands are innovating educational processes and content. This calls for flexible adjustment of the internal educational organization and continuous care for quality improvement. More and more schools introduce for their students competenceoriented learning using a so-called portfolio to map a personal development plan (PDP) and the learning progress. The Dutch government also requires teachers at primary and secondary schools to create PDP‘s in order to optimize their professional skills and to guarantee the quality of the education they provide. This means that school managers face the complex task of rejuvenating their development-oriented HRM.
