Zusammenfassung
Das Konzept technologischer Innovationspfade integriert die in den vorhergehenden Kapiteln diskutierte Evolution und Institutionalisierung komplexer Technologien und entwickelt eine soziologische Perspektive auf die zugrundeliegenden Prozesse. Die Entwicklung von Technologie in Interaktion mit dem sozialen Kontext bildet dabei das Fundament. Technologische Entwicklung ist ein originär soziales Phänomen, die dann als alternativlos und natürlich erscheint, wenn sie in einen hochgradig institutionalisierten Kontext eingebettet ist: „If it is possible to identify a stable path, or a ‚technological trajectory,‘ it is usually because enough of the rest of the world is stable“ (Pinch 2001: 397).
