Zusammenfassung
Eines der wichtigsten Merkmale sozialer Netzwerke im Internet sind die Profile, in denen sich die Mitglieder mit Textangaben und Fotos selbst darstellen. Das hohe Maß an Offenheit und die damit verbundenen Risiken für die Privatsphäre haben zu einer breiten öffentlichen Diskussion geführt, in der immer wieder Unverständnis über die bedenkenlose Preisgabe privater Informationen geäußert wird. Mit der folgenden Studie sollte ermittelt werden, welche Arten von Informationen StudiVZ-Mitglieder veröffentlichen, wie die Möglichkeiten des Privatsphären-Schutzes genutzt werden und wie die Preisgabe persönlicher Informationen von den Mitgliedern selbst wahrgenommen wird.
