Der Beitrag gibt einen Überblick über Konzepte, Methoden, Fragestellungen und Forschungsergebnisse der Bildungsökonomie in drei zentralen Themenfeldern: Humankapitalforschung, interne Effizienz und Bildungsfinanzierung. Skizziert werden der Investitionscharakter von Bildung, Methoden und Ergebnisse von Renditeschätzungen sowie der Beitrag der ur Erforschung der Bedingungsfaktoren von Schulleistungen.
