Zusammenfassung
Die Konjunktur, welche Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) im Wirtschaftssystem und als Gegenstand gesellschaftlicher Diskurse seit einigen Jahren erlebt, wirft unter anderem Fragen nach den Gründen und Mechanismen der Institutionalisierung von CSR, den Bedeutungen des Konzeptes für verschiedene Akteure sowie damit verbundenen Implikationen (Legitimität u. a.) auf. Insbesondere die Organisationssoziologie und Organisationstheorie vermögen hierauf Antworten zu geben. Während rein wirtschaftswissenschaftliche Perspektiven CSR häufig als strategisches Instrument und Geschäftsszenario thematisieren (u. a. McWilliams & Siegel 2001)1 und normativ-ethische Perspektiven es beispielsweise vor dem Hintergrund von Normensystemen evaluieren, sind organisationswissenschaftliche Perspektiven primär darum bemüht, diese Wirkzusammenhänge zu beschreiben und analytisch zu reflektieren. Im Vordergrund organisationssoziologischer und damit eng verbundener organisationstheoretischer Studien steht die Frage nach den Wechselwirkungen zwischen Organisationen (der Politik, der Wirtschaft , etc.), der Gesellschaft und den Menschen (Akteure, Individuen, Gruppen) (Endruweit 2004). Oftmals werden die Verbreitung bestimmter Praxen, die daran beteiligten Sinnstiftungsprozesse, Bedeutungssysteme und Spannungsfelder beleuchtet, innerhalb derer sich die Dynamiken und Implikationen von Konzepten wie CSR und damit verbundene Kommunikationen verorten lassen. Thematisiert werden beispielsweise die institutionellen und teils konfligierenden Bedingungen, in denen Unternehmen agieren (Schimank 2005; Bovens 1998; Lammers 2003; Beschorner 2004), sowie Prozesse der individuellen Rezeption und kommunikativen Aushandlung von Wirklich keiten auf der Mikroebene.
