Zusammenfassung
Der folgende Beitrag widmet sich einer Art ‚Gegenpol‘ zum Mediatisierungskonzept, wie Friedrich Krotz es in zahlreichen Publikationen entwickelt hat: der Mediation.1 Dieser Gegenpol ist hier allerdings nicht als eine Alternative gedacht, sondern eher im Sinne einer sinnvollen Ergänzung (vgl. auch Couldry 2008, Livingstone 2009). Mediation betont im Endeffekt die Bedeutung des Mediatisierungs-Ansatzes, kritisiert allerdings Tendenzen der Verengung auf eine Medienlogik (siehe auch Hepp in diesem Band) und verweist auf mögliche Erweiterungen, insbesondere in Hinblick auf den Alltag und die darin stattfindende Domestizierung von Medientechnologien.
