Zum ersten Mal traten die Cellules Communistes Combattantes (CCC), zu deutsch die Kämpfenden Kommunistischen Zellen, am 2. Oktober 1984 in Belgien in Erscheinung, als sie sich zu dem Anschlag auf die US-Firma LITTON Industries in Evere bekannten. Bis zum 6. Dezember 1985 folgten 23 weitere Sprengstoffanschläge auf belgischem Staatsgebiet. Basierend auf antiimperialistischer, marxistisch-leninistischer Ideologie richteten sich die Attentate gegen Einrichtungen der NATO, Unternehmen, die angeblich Geschäftsbeziehungen zu Mitgliedern der NATO-Streitkräfte unterhielten oder ihre Vertreter waren. Bei den Aktionen wurden etliche Menschen verletzt und zwei getötet. Vier führende Mitglieder der CCC wurden am 16. Dezember 1985 festgenommen, 1988 zu lebenslangen Haftstrafen verurteilt und befanden sich bis vor wenigen Jahren im Gefängnis.

Bei dieser Aktion wurde offenbar das Bulletin „Docom“ (Documentation Communiste) verbreitet. Es sollte die revolutionären Kräfte zusammenschließ en, einschließ lich der Roten Brigaden und der RAF.
