Zusammenfassung
„Ohne Ziele sind Handlungen undenkbar. Sie steuern den Einsatz der Fähigkeiten und Fertigkeiten von Menschen bei ihren Handlungen und richten ihre Vorstellungen und ihr Wissen auf die angestrebten Handlungsergebnisse hin aus“ (Kleinbeck, 2006, S. 255). Ziele haben diesen großen Einfluss auf menschliches Handeln, weil sie ein wesentlicher Verursacher von Motivation sind (Elliot & Fryer, 2008). In den letzten Jahren nimmt darum die so genannte Zielpsychologie einen immer größeren Stellenwert im Rahmen motivationspsychologischer Forschung ein. Nach Oettingen und Gollwitzer (2002) löst momentan die Zielpsychologie die traditionelle Motivationspsychologie ab, die davon ausging, dass es genüge, die Variablen Erwartung und Wert zu bestimmen, um die Bereitschaft, eine bestimmte Handlung auszuführen, vorherzusagen. Die Zielpsychologie untersucht, wie Ziele gesetzt werden können, wie Zielrealisierung stattfindet und welche selbstregulatorischen Prozesse durch Ziele aktiviert werden. Das Interesse der Zielpsychologie läuft letztendlich immer auf eine Frage hinaus: Welche Art von Ziel hat die höchste Erfolgsrate?
