Der folgende Beitrag hat sich zum Ziel gesetzt, auf eine Gefahr hinzuweisen. Diese Gefahr entsteht dadurch, dass innerhalb der bestehenden gesellschaftlichen Strukturen zunehmend mit ‚Differenz‘ bzw. mit einem ‚Recht auf Differenz‘ argumentiert wird. Diese Argumentation taucht insbesondere in den aktuellen Diskursen um eine Multikulturelle Gesellschaftauf, wobei diese Multikulturelle Gesellschaft als ein gesellschaftliches Gegenmodell zum Neorassismusangeboten wird. Die Gefahr artikuliert sich darin, dass der Begriff der ‚Kultur‘ zum „central all-embracing concept“ (Grillo 1998), zur „zentralen Signifikanten“ (Grimm & Ronneberger 1994) der Analyse gesellschaftlicher Verhältnisse wird.

Die Argumentationslinie hier wurde zuerst vorgetragen auf einem Symposium zum „Conceptual Change“ in der Philosophie und den Sozialwissenschaften (Universität von Kreta, Rethymno, Dezember 2003).
