Zusammenfassung

In wissenschaftlichen Analysen werden regelmäßig vergleichende Aussagen über das Ausmaß von Vorurteilen in Staaten getroffen, ohne angemessen zu prüfen, ob die verwendeten Instrumente in den untersuchten Staaten auch dasselbe messen. Dies ist erstaunlich, ist doch das Ausmaß von Vorurteilen in einer Gesellschaft von unmittelbar politischer und wissenschaftlicher Brisanz. Mit Daten des Eurobarometers 53 wird in diesem Beitrag daher die Prüfung der Messinvarianz dichotomer Vorurteilsindikatoren demonstriert. Eine bisher in der Literatur nicht ausreichend beachtete Ursache für die fehlende internationale Vergleichbarkeit von Vorurteilsskalen ist item-nonresponse. Die Verzerrungen durch item-nonresponse können durch den Einsatz theoretisch fundierter Methoden behoben oder zumindest eingrenzt werden, wie in diesem Beitrag gezeigt wird.
