Abstract

The use and active promotion of fixed-term and casual contracts, temporary work agency employment and part-time employment has helped some groups to (re-)enter the labour market and has therefore contributed to increasing employment. On the other hand, these developments have enhanced labour market segmentation by increasing the risk of unemployment, inactivity, income poverty and insufficient social insurance coverage among specific labour market groups.
