Die Rolle von Vertrauen in sozialen Beziehungen — das Beispiel chinesischsprachiger Kulturräume

Mit dem folgenden Beitrag gehen wir der Frage nach, wie sich das soziale Konstrukt „Vertrauen“ (xinren) in chinesischen Sprach- und Kulturgemeinschaften im Spiegel der internationalen Vertrauensforschung und vor dem Hintergrund erster indigener Theorieansätze darstellen lässt. Dabei greifen wir Beiträge aus stärker auf Asien bezogenen Forschungsrichtungen auf, die vor dem Hintergrund sehr differenzierter internationaler (westlicher) Forschungsfelder zwar nur vergleichsweise geringen Raum einnehmen, in ihrer Entwicklung aber in den letzten Jahren zunehmend an Bedeutung gewinnen und teilweise die Paradigmenbildung der westlichen Forschung zumindest ansatzweise beeinflussen konnten (Henze 2007; Tan/Chee 2005; Wu et al. 2006; Kim 2002). Die Analyse umfasst in einem ersten Schritt die Darstellung von Konzepten zur Beschreibung interpersonaler Kommunikation, vorzugsweise in China. Dabei geht es um Definitions- und Prozesslandschaften der individuellen Konstruktion des Selbst, seiner relationalen Orientierung auf Andere und die damit verbundene Einbettung in Beziehungs- und Netzwerkkreise (Bond 1991, 1996). Vor dem Hintergrund dieses Ensembles der Einbettung des Selbst wird die Kategorie Vertrauen in emischer und etischer Perspektive eingeführt und mögliche weitergehende Forschungsfragen entwickelt.

Mit der Bezeichnung chinesischsprachige Kulturräume werden hier nationalstaatliche Konfigurationen chinesischsprachiger Gemeinschaften (China, Taiwan, Singapur) verstanden, aber auch solche sozialen Gemeinschaften, die als „Chinese communities“ weltweit in varianten, aber tendenziell ähnlichen sozialen Beziehungsmustern leben.

2 Die Darstellung versteht sich als erster Versuch zur Sichtung des einschlägigen englischspra-chigen sozialwissenschaftlichen Schrifttums, speziell mit einer Fokussierung auf China, Hong Kong und Taiwan. Die weitergehende Analyse chinesischsprachiger Quellen ist als Kooperati-onsprojekt mit dem Intercultural Institute der Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) geplant.
