Auszug

Medikamentenverordnungen gehören in Deutschland zu den von ärzten am häufigsten durchgeführten therapeutischen Maßnahmen (ABDA 2003; SVR 2005) und sind der zweitgrößte Ausgabenblock nach den Kosten für Krankenhausbehandlungen in der GKV. Gerade bei chronischen Erkrankungen und Multimorbidität erhöht sich die Anzahl der Arztbesuche, wobei zumeist Mediziner unterschiedlicher Fachdisziplinen in die Behandlung involviert sind. Die Anzahl von Diagnosen und einzunehmenden Arzneimitteln korrespondiert mit der Frequenz der Arztbesuche — rein statistisch betrachtet wird in Deutschland pro Arztbesuch ein Rezept ausgestellt (Hessel et al. 2000).
