Entwicklung von Governance im Mehrebenensystem der EU

Unter den Begriffen, die die Besonderheiten der Politik in der EU charakterisieren sollen, gewannen Konzepte wie „multi-level-governance“ (Bache/Flinders 2004; Benz 2003; Hooghe/Marks 2001) und „network governance“ (Eising/Kohler-Koch 1999) in den letzten Jahren an Aufmerksamkeit. Die Policy-Forschung analysierte zudem Veränderungen von Governance-Formen in der EU und identifizierte „new modes of governance“ (Eberlein/Kerwer 2004; Héritier 2002; Kohler-Koch/Rittberger 2006; Treib et al. 2007). Neuerdings bemüht man sich um Typologien von Governance, welche die empirische Forschung über politische Prozesse sowie über Steuerung und Koordination im europäischen Mehrebenensystem anleiten können (Eising/Lenschow 2007; sowie Tömmel, Börzel, Bähr et al. in diesem Band).
