Zusammenfassung
Die prägenden Perspektiven der New Economic Sociology fanden in den 1980er Jahren ihren gemeinsamen Kristallisationspunkt darin, dass die von jeher mit dem Selbstverständnis der Soziologie verbundene Frage nach dem Verhältnis von Ökonomie und Gesellschaft auf eine neue Art und Weise wieder gestellt wurde. Diese Frage hat eine substantielle und eine disziplinäre Dimension. Erstens wird spätestens seit der von Adam Smith geprägten Metapher von der unsichtbaren Hand des Marktes diskutiert, ob die Ökonomie als eine Sphäre mit eigener Logik betrachtet werden kann oder muss.
