Was wir unter Sozialpolitik verstehen, ist recht umstritten. Es gibt sehr enge Definitionen der Sozialpolitik, bei denen Sozialpolitik auf den Kernbereich der Sozialpolitik, die Sozialversicherung in Form der Alters- und Kranken- sowie der Arbeitslosenversicherung, beschränkt wird.
