Zusammenfassung

Sportgeschichte war lange Zeit eine Domäne von Männern, von Sportlern und Zuschauern, von Sportpolitikern und -organisatoren. Auch die Sporthistoriker und die Rezipienten ihrer Werke waren (und sind) überwiegend Männer. In der „Olympischen Familie“ waren Frauen ebenfalls „Nachzüglerinnen“, die mehr als 100 Jahre warten mussten, bevor sie zu allen Wettbewerben zugelassen wurden. Im IOC selbst sind Frauen nach wie vor Außenseiterinnen ohne Einfl uss und Macht (Pfi ster, 2000b).
