Wenn es um Verschwörungstheorien geht, wird häufig die erworbene Immunschwäche, das „acquired immunodeficiency syndrom“ AIDS, als besonders dramatisches Beispiel angeführt. The AIDS Conspiracy wurde inzwischen sogar zum Buchtitel (Nattrass 2012).
