Zusammenfassung
»Why did no one see the credit crunch coming?«. Im Nachklang der Finanzkrise 2008/09 wurde nicht nur von der englischen Königin gefragt, warum die Ökonomen diese Krise nicht haben vorhersagen können. Offensichtlich hat die Ökonomie ein Nichtwissensproblem: auch wenn man hinterher meint klären zu können, warum die Krise entstand, kann man nicht hinreichend erklären, warum man sie vorher nicht hatte hinreichend erklären oder prognostizieren können. Doch auch was man post hoc geklärt zu wissen meint, fällt wiederum so vielfältig und inkongruent aus, dass man nun doch nicht behaupten kann, wir wüssten, woran es lag.
