Zusammenfassung

Filme, die den Frauenfußball explizit thematisieren gibt es nicht viele. Trotzdem wurde einer der wenigen cineastischen Versuche, den Frauenfußball in Form eines fiktiven Narrativs dem Publikum näher zu bringen, zum absoluten Kassenschlager. Bend it like Beckhamder anglo-indischen Regisseurin Gurinder Chadha aus dem Jahre 2002 war einer der erfolgreichsten britischen Filme der vergangenen zwanzig Jahre.
