Als ich 1976 nach San Diego zog, um Ethnomethodologie zu studieren, kaufte ich mir für 1000 Dollar einen roten 69er Camaro (und mit ihm die besondere Aufmerksamkeit der California Highway Patrol). Als meine Mutter mich ein Jahr später besuchte, stolz, mit fast 70 erstmals nach Amerika gefl ogen zu sein, schenkte sie mir ein car stereo für die gemeinsame Reise, und ich kaufte ein paar Tapes, außer Coltrane und Miles auch drei Kassetten von Roy Ayers Ubiquity.
