Politiker bezeichnen ihre Mitstreiter gerne als Freunde, Helmut Kohl zum Beispiel: Sein Geflecht an Freundschaftsbeziehungen innerhalb der CDU – bis in die Kreisverbände hinein – war legendär. Peter Struck und Volker Kauder: Die beiden Fraktionsvorsitzenden in der Großen Koalition von 2005 bis 2009 wurden Freunde. Ihr Vertrauensverhältnis galt als wichtiger Erfolgsfaktor für das schwarz-rote Bündnis.
