Zusammenfassung
Die Analyse sozialer Netzwerke in der Wissenschaft hat seit den späten 1990er Jahren einen bemerkenswerten Aufschwung erlebt. Zu seinen Ursachen zählt die Tatsache, dass sich die Erforschung sozialer Netzwerke zu einem interdisziplinären Feld weiterentwickelt hat, zu dem mittlerweile auch zahlreiche Mathematiker, Physiker und Informatiker zählen und nicht mehr nur Anthropologen, Psychologen und Soziologen. Das Feld der Netz-werkforschung ist heute größer, differenzierter und zugleich vernetzter als noch vor 15 Jahren.
