Every sound has its atmosphere. Besides shapes, colours and odours, it is sound that contributes fundamentally to the atmospheric impression of a given object or situation. Therefore music, as the ordered succession of sound, is, in addition to its structural qualities, a vehicle for the transportation of atmospheric values. There are, of course, many reasons why people listen to music, one of which is the desire to put oneself in a certain mood, perhaps the prevalent one.
