Abstract
The first subsection introduces the Construction Grammar paradigm including the notions of frequency and productivity. The second subchapter turns to the notion of construction-hood including the two concepts of schematicity and complexity, which will prove vital in chapter 6. The third subsection outlines the main criteria commonly applied to identify constructions and will apply them to subordinated modalised clauses.
