Zussamenfassung
»Highlife« bezeichnet eine Musikform des anglophonen westlichen Afrika. Als englisches Lehnwort und Bezeichnung für dortige Musik findet es nach bisherigem Quellenstand zuerst 1925 in der damals britischen Kolonie Goldküste im Zusammenhang kolonial-elitärer Tanzveranstaltungen Erwähnung (BAPMAF 1925).
