Zusammenfassung
Liegen Daten digital vor, ist noch nicht sichergestellt, dass innerhalb dieser Daten auch relevante Informationen gefunden werden. Je größer die Datenmenge, desto größer ist die Herausforderung, etwas Gesuchtes darin auch zu finden. Jede Form der Wiedergewinnung von gespeicherten Daten mit der Möglichkeit, auch unscharf gestellte Fragen zu bestimmten Themen aufgrund eines Datenbestandes beantworten zu können, wird Information Retrieval (IR) genannt.
