Zusammenfassung
Der Agenda Setting Ansatz bzw. die Thematisierungstheorie erklärt, wie bestimmte Themen von den Massenmedien aufgegriffen und priorisiert werden. Er stammt aus der amerikanischen Kommunikationsforschung der 1960er und frühen 1970er Jahre, die insbesondere auf Medienwirkungsforschung fokussiert war, wurde dort eingeführt von Bernhard Cohen (1963) und systematisch entwickelt von Maxwell McCombs und Donald Shaw (1972).
