Zusammenfassung
Mit anderen berühmten Organisten der Renaissance wie Conrad Paumann oder Antonio Valente teilte C. das Schicksal der Blindheit, die ihn in früher Kindheit befiel. So ist es zu verstehen, daß von ihm fast nur Instrumentalwerke überliefert sind, denn diese konnte er vorspielen und von kundigen Musikern in Notenschrift übertragen lassen; vielleicht hat er sie auch diktiert, wie es von anderen blinden Komponisten berichtet wird.
