Zussamenfassung
Noch die DDR bricht die Struktur des Museumswesens um: Ab März 1990 initiieren Fachkräfte vor Ort regionale Museumsverbände; im September löst der Kulturminister den Rat für Museumswesen und den Nationalen Museumsrat auf (Karge 2007, 32 f., 40 f.). Das Institut für Museumswesen in Berlin (ehemals Ost) wird nach einer Übergangsfinanzierung doch 1993 abgewickelt.
