Zusammenfassung
Das aus dem Englischen entlehnte Fremdwort glamour läßt sich mit ›Glanz‹ oder ›Ausstrahlung‹ übersetzen. Wichtiger als die denotative Bedeutung des Begriffes sind jedoch im vorliegenden Zusammenhang dessen verschiedene Konnotationen, die sich sowohl etymologisch als auch kulturgeschichtlich ausmachen lassen. Dabei stehen drei Aspekte im Vordergrund: a) Glamour als verführerischer Schein, b) die Rolle Hollywoods und die mediale Bedingtheit von Glamour und c) der Zusammenhang zwischen Körperlichkeit, Geschlecht, (Selbst)Inszenierung und Mode in der Herstellung von Glamour.
