Weltliteratur als Wissenskonfiguration. Versuch einer Bilanz aus postkolonialistischer Perspektive

Zusammenfassung

Der Beitrag untersucht die Beziehung zwischen den Wissenskonfigurationen ‚Weltliteratur‘ und ‚Postkolonialismus‘ und zeigt auf, wie sich beide unter dem Einfluss des jeweiligen anderen Wissenssystems modifizieren und einander ergänzen. So erfährt der Postkolonialismus eine raumzeitliche Erweiterung jenseits der von Europa ausgehenden Expansion der Frühen Neuzeit hin zu antiken, aber auch aktuellen kolonialen Prozessen, während die Konzeptualisierung von Weltliteratur nunmehr von mehreren Ausgangspunkten vorgenommen wird. So entsteht im Bewusstsein eines einzigen und ungleichen Welt-Systems eine ‚Vergleichende Weltliteraturwissenschaft‘ mit verschiedenen geographischen Ausgangspunkten, die sowohl den wirtschaftlich-politisch-kulturellen Verhältnissen als auch dem Theorie- und Methodenpluralismus in der globalisierten Gegenwart besser Rechnung trägt als die bisherige euro- oder US-zentristische Weltliteratur-Debatte.
