Meta-Metaphysik beschäftigt sich mit der Epistemologie und Methodologie der Metaphysik und zielt darauf, epistemische Gründe und den Status metaphysischer Behauptungen zu beurteilen. Ontologie ist der spezifische Teil der Metaphysik, der ›Sein‹ und ›Existenz‹ behandelt. Somit ist Meta-Ontologie ein Teil der Meta-Metaphysik, der epistemische Gründe und den Status von Behauptungen über Sein und Existenz beurteilt.
