Zusammenfassung

Innerhalb der rund letzten dreitausend Jahre haben sich in Ostasien verschiedene Ontologien entwickelt, in denen sich ebenso prinzipielle wie umfassende Einsichten über die Natur der absolut grundlegenden Wirklichkeit, dem ›Taiji‹ (›großes Letztes‹, engl. supreme ultimate), zeigen. Unter der Überschrift »Ostasien « beziehen wir uns hier auf China, Japan und Korea. Ontologien aus der Mongolei und Vietnam werden hier aus Platzgründen nicht berücksichtigt.
